Hi there! I’m Renae!

I am a creative Mum of three small children. And like most creative Mum’s, I create in stolen moments, between all of the juggling, in naptimes and when all three fall asleep for the night.

Allowing my creativity to flow instead of letting it fall away into the never-ending to-do list feeds my soul. It’s what releases tension in a world that’s determined to destroy our resolution and weigh us all down. It’s what allows me to show up for my kids, and it teaches them the importance of creativity, of blocking out the noise, even just for a little while. Idle hands and all that.

I am no longer a first bird catches the worm type. Nor am I a night owl. I am, as that popular meme says, some kind of perpetually exhausted pigeon. And to be honest, I’d love to get some (a lot) more sleep. But every day I show up - for my children, for my husband, for myself and for my art. And that, to me, is more important than being well-rested.

My children are constantly reminding me of how to be fun, how to make up games, the importance of storytelling, the vitalness of slowing down and noticing the little things that are so often missed in the busy-ness of life. Thanks to them, I am seeing the world around me through their eyes. The flora, the fauna, the colours, the landscapes, the people that fill it and my own experiences are all I need for brush to meet canvas, words to greet paper and finger to embrace shutter. And so my children are my inspiration and the driver of my passion for creativity. So thus, here I am. Hello - and welcome to my eclectic place of creativity!
